‘Unity E-Games’ kickoff APEC Schools CEO Joie Lopez graces Opening Ceremony

The first-ever APEC Schools Unity E-Games and Festival of Talents commenced with Miss Joie Lopez, APEC Schools Chief Executive Officer (CEO), gracing the Opening Ceremony in Cluster D held online via Zoom and streamed live on Facebook, Feb. 20.
Miss Lopez, in her opening remarks, shared that “Aside from academics, we identify other activities which the students will enjoy while fostering the Mindset, Character, and Habits we aspire to inculcate in them. Every year, everyone looks forward to the Unity Games. The games give our students the opportunity to have fun and take part in healthy competition.” She revealed that “this year, we are having our first-ever Unity E-Games” which she hoped that “everyone is looking forward to the events.”
Virtual Lighting of Torch was also one of the highlights of the Opening Ceremony wherein the 10 Teams were introduced, which are Orange Mages, Gray Gunners, Yellow Elementalists, Red Targemen, Blue Guardians, Green Swordsmen, Purple Assassins, Pink Archers, Brown Wrestlers, and Black Weapon Masters.
Meeting with respective Team Coaches as well as the orientation for the different games and activities happened after the Opening Ceremony, while the games and activities scheduled for the day started in the afternoon such as Mobile Legends, Call of Duty Mobile, Chess Online, Scrabble Online, Spelling Bee, Poetry Writing, Facemask Design, and e-Poster Making.
Present in the Opening Ceremony of Cluster D are the Team Captains, Learning Facilitators (LFs), Master Teachers, School Heads and the Operations Team, Ms. Maria Regina Hernaez (Teaching Cluster Head), and Ms. Chris Fuentez (Head of School Administration), wherein some of them gave messages of thanks, shared stories about the planning and preparations, and encouraged students to participate in the activities.
Sir Kinet Marck Nopal and Ms. Jai Villamer, two of Cluster D LFs, hosted the program. Cluster D consists of four APEC Schools branches which are Muntinlupa, Sta. Rita, Lipa, and San Pablo.
In an interview, Nicole Escarpe, one of the team captains, narrated that “This is my first time being a Team Captain and I'm a new student in APEC Schools so to have this experience is truly an honor for me. My goal is to provide assistance plus support to my team and at the same time have fun during Unity eGames. Our coaches are very supportive and reliant. Hopefully, we can get the crown as the first-ever Unity E-Games team champion.” #
