The Arts and Crafts Club hosted an Alternative Class Program (ACP) about Grounding, held via Google Meet, Apr. 23.

Led by Ms. Andrea Resane, the Arts and Crafts Club Moderator, the activity is based on one of the techniques in art therapy aimed to help participants to take a break from stress.

Allen Joren Penafiel, one of the program hosts and a member of the Arts and Crafts Club, welcomed the participants and led an icebreaker activity wherein five students shared their artwork.

“Coloring and Shading Techniques”, the first topic of the program, was introduced by Reenel Paguia and Fatma Nayra Fernandez, members of the Arts and Crafts Club. They tackled the tips and tricks on how to color and shade better when doing artwork. Participants were also able to share their insights and ideas regarding the topic.

The second activity called “Grounding” was supervised by Ms. Resane. She first discussed how arts and mindfulness are connected and then explained the instructions for what the participants shall expect and do during the activity. Participants were asked to share their outputs at the end of the meeting.

Closing remarks rendered by Ms. Resane ended the program.

“Some simple artworks can be beautiful,” Chienlin Tan, one of the participants expressed. #
