Learning facilitators (LFs) or teachers may be different, but we all know they have the same purpose to us, students. They are there to guide us on what we will be doing and test our capabilities. They did all the effort to teach us, to make us learn new things for our future, tiring themselves to find something new to show us, and guiding us to know what it is.
I can say that the LFs did more than enough to teach us, to guide us, and help us. If the students use the learning they had in school, then I can say that they do a very good job. Like all schools, different personalities can be found in LFs, which I admittedly say, are sometimes frustrating or encouraging depending on who they are. However, there are times that I feel that the effort of the LFs is being taken for granted. There are times that some students won't listen, but after some intervention of these LFs, they eventually listen and know how to respect. As time goes by, I have an urge to be better, and I am afraid of letting them down.
Last October 4, 2019, we, as the students of the APEC Schools San Pablo, decided that we would acknowledge their hard work and sacrifice for us students. The three classes of APEC San Pablo (STEM, ABM, and Grade 7) collaborated to make the Teacher’s Day celebration special. Though we had some blunders and sometimes had to ask help from the LFs, we did it well.
In the first part of the celebration, we hosted an event to poke fun at the teachers and amused them too. All of the LFs, staff, and students had fun that day as we gave many appreciations to them which caused some of them to tear up in joy. I even smiled to see that the LFs are being appreciated; they did so much for us, and it was appropriate to return them the favor.
After that, all of the Senior High students were unexpectedly called in front. At first, I thought that it would be the time for us to say our gratitude, but we were told to take a pledge -- a pledge to be something greater. Then, they fastened a small pin on our collars, and I felt accomplished with that pin. Every time I wear it, I feel a sense of pride.
After the short ceremony, the food came along. The foods were mouth-watering, especially the Mac and cheese. Though it was only for the teachers, I felt grateful to my stepmom for bringing that last-minute miracle.
To end it all, it was certainly a fun experience. The smiles of our LFs make me extremely satisfied with APEC San Pablo’s contribution, and we felt that their efforts are being acknowledged.
