SC San Pablo launches ‘Reach Out Project’; conducts 1st webinar

APEC Schools San Pablo's Student Council (SC) introduced their Reach Out Project: Mental Health Matters, with its first webinar commenced via Google Meet, Feb. 17.
Reach Out Project is a series of webinars focusing on Mental Health topics organized by SC San Pablo led by Ms. Lady Lee Castillo, Deputy Adviser. The series of webinars will feature various guest speakers sharing their knowledge and expertise, as well as activities to be done asynchronously, with an aim of spreading awareness on how students could take care of their mental health and in preventing problems they might encounter concerning this.
Mr. Cloyd C. Ramos, a graduate of MA Education Major in Administration and Supervision and a Guest Lecturer III at Batangas State University - Jose P. Laurel Polytechnic College (BSU-JPLPC) Malvar Campus, was the Guest Speaker of the day. He started his talk with an interactive quiz bee with questions focusing on the misconceptions regarding mental health. Then, he continued on presenting various statistical data related to mental health.
His talk proceeded in mentioning inspirational Bible verses that are related to life, overcoming weaknesses, success, wisdom, and strength, as well as discussing mindset including its types and how it is essential in life, and stress and its effects and stress management or the things you can do to lessen or avoid stress. In his lecture, he also said that we have to CRAFT or Care, Respect, Accept, Forgive, and Trust.
He also discussed the Republic Act 11036 or the Mental Health Law signed by President Rodrigo Duterte that mandates providing Filipinos with affordable and accessible mental health services.
Awarding of Certificate of Recognition ended the program. The second and third sessions of the webinar will be on March 3 and March 17, respectively.
In an interview, Ms. Castillo said that “Always remember that you’re not alone on this, we are here willing to help you as much as we can, so join now it will be fun and informative.” #
