APEC Schools San Pablo Student Council (SC) conducted the second session of their Reach Out Project: Mental Health Matters held via Google Meet, March 3.

Ms. Arlyn A. Pasco, a public school teacher (DepEd Teacher 1), was the Guest Speaker for that day. With her lecture entitled Coping Mechanisms, she started her talk by discussing the meaning of stress and how it was formed. She explained that stress could be positive or negative, wherein positive stress is a kind of stress that could improve you that may become negative stress if we are under too much pressure and are somehow affecting ourselves negatively. She gave lots of examples based on real-life situations to help the participants better understand the topic, as well as mentioned several signs and symptoms of stress and the consequences of it.
After her discussion about stress, she interactively asked questions to the participants before she continued with the next topic which is Stress Management. She discussed the “zone” or areas of the stress of a person and gave pieces of advice on how they could cope up with their situation. She ended her talk by saying "Having problems and being stressed is normal because this also helps us to learn something in life."
After her talk, Ms. Pasco was awarded a Certificate of Recognition. The session ended after Ms. Andrea Resane, Learning Facilitator, gave her Closing Remarks.
Reach Out Project includes a series of webinars focusing on Mental Health topics organized by SC San Pablo led by Ms. Lady Lee Castillo, Deputy Adviser. The third and last session of the Reach Out Project will be held on March 17, 2021. #
