Pink Archers’ Nicole Escarpe and Orange Mages’ Chelsea Sophia Uga outranked other spellers to claim the championship in SHS and JHS Category of Spelling Bee, respectively, during the Cluster D Unity E-Games and Festival of Talents 2021, Feb. 20.
Even though it was difficult to compete because of the internet problems, Escarpe established a solid position for their team and ended the contest with a score of 13 out of 20. Following her, Argie Delgado of Gray Gunners’ Argie Delgado was declared as the 2nd placer while Orange Mages’ Coleen Cassandra Hurtado was hailed as the 3rd placer.
For the JHS Category, Uga spelled 15 out of 20 words correctly to take the top spot. Purple Assassins’ Deioroty Macabingil made it to 2nd place while Black Weapon Masters’ Rhyzelle Geganzo grabbed 3rd place.
“I didn’t expect to be the winner because I thought at that time I wasn’t going to be qualified. Actually, I wasn’t in the house and the connection was really weak in that place. So I prayed to have a signal just for once and my prayer was answered, and to my surprise, I even won. “Thanks, God” moment talaga,” Escarpe expressed in an interview. #
