Showcasing extraordinary skills and creativity in designing a facemask and in digital arts, Ralph Justin Paradero, Mary Jerlyn Celaje, and Dustin Kurt Parado, all Grade 11-ABM students, ranked first in the Design-A-Facemask Competition and TikTok Challenge as part of the Mental Health Week celebration, Dec 3.

The actual design of the facemask was created by Paradero and Parado while the digital editing and illustration were accomplished by Celaje who is also responsible for leading their TikTok entry. These students, all from APEC Las Piñas, have their entries adjudged as the most creative and most related to the theme "YOUth Matters: Navigating and Emerging Amidst Adversities."
Jerry Bombane, Grade 12-STEM student from APEC San Pablo, Althea Mae Labayandoy, Grade 10 student from APEC Dasmariñas and Dianan Frankie Martizano, Grade 8 student from APEC Lipa also joined in the Design-A-Facemask Competition.
A webinar was also conducted last November 25 in line with the theme with Mr. Jimwell Panopio, a Registered Psychometrician, and cum laude graduate of BS Psychology at Batangas State University, as the Guest Speaker. Mental Health Week is initiated and led by the members of the Guidance Team and Peer Facilitators.
“The entries submitted during the Mental Health Week made me see how much students care for mental health. I was impressed by the creativity and effort they gave in their entries. Each entry tells a unique message, but all in all, conveying one theme. The students who participated in the MH week activities and competition go to show that they can advocate for the well-being of their peers not just through mainstream media/platforms but also through art,” Ms. Maica Guce, one of APEC Schools Guidance Associate, shared. #
