MCH poster for the month of September by Nathaniel G. Magdato

Why do we need to have a growth mindset and ownership? Why is it so important? What could be the benefit if these two traits develop throughout our childhood?

A growth mindset comes from the whole host of behaviors, most notably along with grit and the willingness to stick with things when things are going tough. Having a growth mindset is when you control your mindset about your abilities, thus allowing you to learn and improve. People believe that talents can be developed through hard work, the right mindset, and the basic abilities that you had from the start. A growth mindset makes a person mature. With a growth mindset, someone never gets frustrated with the loses he or she experienced. They also strive to be better at everything and looking forward to the future.

Admitting mistakes is very hard for someone. However, ownership helps us take full responsibility and awareness for our actions. It, therefore, allows someone to acknowledge and the mistakes he did. If we carry out this trait, we can be the ideal followers as well as great leaders. Someone with ownership also enthusiastically accepts the things given to him or her and does these on a personal level. For example, one could extend his or her service to help others.

Both ownership and growth mindset could develop the capability of a person to be more successful. Learning both could be a good thing.
