Green Swordsmen’s Pasion prevails in Solo Singing Competition

Danielle Sophia Pasion of Green Swordsmen was proclaimed as the Champion of the Solo Singing Competition of the Cluster D Unity E-Games and Festival of Talents held via Zoom, Feb. 27.

The results of the competition were announced right after interviewing the judges which are Mr. Richard Butial, Mr. Arbie Padilla, and Ms. Tatiana Korionoff IV. Gaining an average of 93.67%, Pasion claimed the Championship in the said contest. Next in rank and the 1st runner-up with an average of 91.33% is Macey Macatangay of Blue Guardians, while the 2nd runner-up with an average of 90% is Eugene de Castro of Red Targemen.

The contestants sang songs from different genres such as ballad, pop music, musical, and many more. The criteria for judging are as follows: Voice Quality - 50%; Delivery - 30%; and Showmanship - 20%. Since the competition was held online, there were some contestants who experienced technical difficulties, but that did not stop them from completing their amazing performances.

In an interview, although she said that it’s not her first time participating in a singing competition and she already competed in several competitions since elementary, she admitted that “I was a bit nervous because you always want to give a good impression to the judges, and you want to try your very best not to make mistakes whether it's online or face to face.” Her advice to other students who want to compete in singing competitions is that they should feel the song and understand its meaning to fully express themselves. They should also visualize themselves singing alone to avoid being nervous, but most importantly they should enjoy themselves while singing. #
