To enrich parents’ knowledge on guiding their children in their online classes as well as addressing their concerns, APEC Schools San Pablo organized the 1st Virtual Parent Coffee held via Google Meet, Oct. 24.

Ms. Meyeth Angat, APEC Schools Guidance Counselor, discussed the Parenting Topic entitled “Supporting Teens in an Online Learning Environment” under the Affirmative Parenting Enrichment Course (APEC). She gave insights about the advantages and disadvantages of online learning to teenagers and how teens experience online learning including the results of the survey conducted by the Guidance Office as well as tips and suggestions for parents on how they will help and support their children in dealing with online learning stress and social isolation. A short Question and Answer portion ended her talk wherein parents had an opportunity to ask her questions about parenting.
Mr. Cecilio Librea, School Head of APEC Schools San Pablo, was the next one to speak, discussing reminders about academics and administration matters such as online class netiquette and students’ attendance, guidelines on who can take and how to take the missed assessments, payment of tuition fee, parent email and portal, and the newly-launched online Help Desk that will help parents in addressing their concerns.
The newly-elected Executive Officers of the Student Support Committee - Board of Directors (SSC-BOD) for this school year were also proclaimed this day. Ms. Maria Farina Rada, newly-elected SSC-BOD EO President, delivered a message, explaining their plans for the school year and encouraging fellow parents’ support on their projects such as the Gift Giving that will be conducted in December.
Virtual Parent Coffee ended with an Open Forum wherein questions about academics were answered by the three Learning Facilitators namely Mr. Zion Krehl Astronomo, Ms. Lady Lee Castillo, and Ms. Andrea Resane, while concerns about administration matters were addressed by Mr. Librea.
Mr. Astronomo served as the Program Moderator, while Ms. Castillo and Ms. Resane delivered the Welcome Message and Closing Message, respectively.
