10 Interesting Facts about APEC Schools San Pablo

Alongside the celebration of APEC Schools 7th Foundation Day, the San Pablo branch which was established in 2019 turned one year this school year. Here are some awesome facts about the newest branch of APEC Schools.

The First Teachers. In APEC Schools, teachers are called Learning Facilitators (LF). Initially, there were five LFs in the San Pablo branch: Miss Mhariah Calvendra; Miss Sharon Rivera; Miss Andrea Resane; Miss Lady Lee Castillo; and Sir Zion Krehl Astronomo.

Pioneer Batch. APEC San Pablo started with 22 students in its first year. The batch consists of eight Grade 7, eight Grade 11 - STEM, and six Grade 11 - ABM students. Sir Zion, Ms. Sharon, and Ms. Lee were the Class Advisers.

Firebird Building. APEC Schools San Pablo is a six-storey building called Firebird Building located at 15 Miguel Leonor St, Brgy. II-E, San Pablo City, Laguna. Each classroom is very spacious, fully air-conditioned and CCTV-protected, and equipped with a whiteboard and a projector.

APEC Legends. Grade 11 - STEM was the first section to win the APEC Legends for the month of August. At the end of the school year, Grade 7 was declared as the Overall Champion. APEC Legends is the MCH (Mindset, Character, Habits) gamification that includes class attendance and punctuality, classroom cleanliness, class initiatives and achievements, among others.

The Faces of APEC San Pablo. Bazzty Fresco and Rania Johaida Cadiz of Grade 7 and Mark Joseph Esmil and Mhay Pamanano of Grade 11 - STEM were chosen as the models of the San Pablo branch. They appeared in the school’s promotional materials.

MCL Cup. The first contest participated by APEC Schools San Pablo is the MCL Cup. Four Grade 7 students namely Nathaniel Magdato, Pawjan Tan, Rania Johaida Cadiz, and Ken Arby Perez joined the Intermediate Science Quiz Bee. MCL Cup is organized by Malayan Colleges Laguna and is participated by high school students from Laguna and some parts of Cavite, Batangas, and Metro Manila.

Sportsfest/Family Day. Last March 7 this year, APEC Schools San Pablo conducted its first-ever Sportsfest. Not only the students but also their parents or guardians participated in various games and sports events.

King and Queen. The first Mr. and Ms. APEC Schools San Pablo were Ralph Chester Esler and Princess Marasigan. Ralph was also the first Student Council President and was elected again in the same position this school year.

SC Adviser. Ms. Mhariah was the first Student Council Adviser and is now being handled by Ms. Lee for this school year.

Amplify Adviser. Amplify San Pablo, the official student publication of APEC Schools San Pablo, was first handled by Ms. Andrea. For this school year, it is being handled by Sir Zion. #
